Biographical Note
Miriam Holden was the Vice Chairman of the New York chapter of the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses from 1936-1946. The National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses was founded in 1908 and disbanded in 1951.
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains papers of Miriam Holden from 1936-1947. The papers contain correspondence, minutes, newsletters, and reports related to the local Colored Graduate Nurses Association of New York, including letters from Mabel Keaton Staupers. The collection also contains newspaper clippings and copies of legislation related to nursing in New York State.
