Scope and Content Note

The subseries consists of correspondence sent and received between 1962 and 2005, arranged alphabetically by Muldoon by correspondent name or subject. Correspondents include Ciaran Carson, Peter Fallon, Seamus Heaney, Michael Longley, Medbh McGuckian, and Derek Mahon. Subjects include particular works and publications by Muldoon, as well as topics related to Ireland, English-language poetry and Muldoon's professional associations. Correspondence with composer Daron Hagen, as it largely concerns their collaborative works, is located in Subseries 2.2, Dramatic Works and Lyrics.
