Collection Description

Biographical Note

Hugh Sloan attended Emory College from 1900-1904. He played right guard and right tackle for the intramural football team, and was on the honor roll throughout his four years at Emory College. Sloan's short story titled "A Prophetic Forecast" was published in the Emory Phoenix in February 1904. This collection was donated to Oxford College by his son Samuel J. Sloan.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of 41 photographs related to the 1904 Emory College graduating class. Each class photograph is personally inscribed to Hugh Sloan by the subject. Campus views are identified by Hugh Sloan's script on the back of each print.
