Scope and Content Note
This collection contains materials associated with slavery and enslaved people in the United States. Materials are from 1765 through 1864. These include publication of a law declaring salvery cannot exist in New York, several bills of sale of enslaved idividuals, and an expense report that mentions repair and purchase of items for enslaved people.
