Subseries 1.1
Title statement, 1973-2012
Boxes 1-18; OP1, 4, 7; and AV2-6

Scope and Content Note

The subseries contains general administrative materials created by Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center (ACAC) from 1973-2012. These materials document the work of the organization's leadership and include annual meeting packets, minutes, and notes; minutes and notes from the board of directors and committees; planning documents; foundational materials, such as mission statements and revisions of by-laws; as well as communication both within and outside the organization. There are also a significant number of subject files on topics of interest to the leadership of the ACAC and reports created by the organization on topics such as fundraising, building management, and arts organizations operations. Materials relating to the Studio Artists program include floor plans for the space as well as applications and lists of members. Also included are facilities planning documents and strategic planning records. There are materials on human resources topics such as their work complying with CETA (Comprehensive Education and Training Act), a Department of Labor program, in the mid-1970s, as well as contracts for space rentals, their liquor license, and materials on legal cases with which they were involved.

Arrangement Note

Arranged in alphabetical order.

Processing Note

There is duplication in board of directors' records due to the overlap of individual memos and minutes and binders that were kept by members of the board. Annual meeting records are arranged chronologically.
