Series 7
Born digital materials, 2002-2012
Scope and Content Note
The series consists of materials from 2 hard drives containing primarily photographs and writings of Camille Billops and James V. Hatch. Files range from 2002 to 2006.
The series also contains an archived copy of the Hatch-Billops Collection website. This site documents the work of Hatch-Billops Collection, Inc., a not-for-profit research library of primary and secondary materials related to African American art, drama, and literature. The site's content includes an index covering volumes 1-30 of the journal, Artist & Influence. Unprocessed born digital materials include two hard drives.
Restrictions on Access
Access to processed born digital materials is only available in the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (the Rose Library). Use of the original digital media is restricted.
Processing Note
The archived copy of the Hatch-Billops Collection website has been captured using the California Digital Library's Web Archiving Service. This copy of the site was captured and preserved prior to the live site being taken offline in 2012.
Forensic disk images were created from the hard drives using GuyMager. Individual files were extracted using FTK Imager and scanned for viruses using McAfee’s anti-virus software; none were found. Duplicate and system files have been removed, and files were scanned for personally identifiable information; none were found. Text-based files were migrated to PDF using Adobe Acrobat and image files were migrated to JPG using Microsoft Paint.
Access copies retain original folder and file names.
