Scope and Content Note

The subseries consists of printed material created by other people and organizations and collected by the Bond family from 1901-2009. Other printed material primarily relates to African American culture and education, with a special emphasis on the Atlanta area. It includes programs, brochures and promotional material from institutions such as Atlanta University, Fisk University, Fort Valley State College, Lincoln University, Morehouse College and Spelman College. It also includes material relating to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), newspaper clippings concerning items of local and national interest to the African American community, and numerous brochures featuring African American artists. The series also includes limited material relating to extended family members, including Horace J. Bond, J. Max Bond, Max Bond, Michael Julian Bond, and James Bond (1863-1929).
