Collection Description

Biographical Note

James W. Bridges (1938-2018) was born on February 3, 1938. He was a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Clark College. Bridges served as an Arts and Crafts director for the United States Army in Korea from circa 1970-1990. He died in Atlanta on January 14, 2018.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of the papers of James W. Bridges from 1946-1992 and contains clippings, correspondence, and photographs. The bulk of the collection contains photograph albums compiled by Bridges during his tours in Korea. Color and black-and-white photographs depict Bridges, residents of Korea, Korean buildings and surrounding landscape, and military life. One photograph album possibly contains photographs from Bridges childhood. Other materials in the collection include a small amount of correspondence, certificates, and printed material mostly related to Bridges service in the Army. The collection also contains a copy of a Clark College yearbook.
