Scope and Content Note

The subseries consists of published and unpublished songs, poems, editorials, articles, essays, and book reviews written by Brown from 1989-2007. It also includes writing concepts, notes, fragments, and edited drafts of her writing, as well as book proposals and correspondence regarding publishing opportunities. Many of the pieces included in this subseries are reflections on the history and legacy of the Black Panther, as well as general examinations of race and racism in America.
