Scope and Content Note
This subseries includes a variety of other writings by Bullins, such as essays, children's stories, novellas, poems, short stories, and speeches. The essays cover topics such as African American theater and arts in general and Bullins' early career in the theater. The subseries also includes one interview given by Bullins, in addition to a draft of The Funky Chicken, one of two novels written by Bullins. Missing are drafts of his early novel, The Reluctant Rapist (1973), or his collection The Hungered One: Early Writings of Ed Bullins (1971). Papers written by Bullins as part of his undergraduate and graduate coursework can be found under "Academic files" in Series 3: Subject files.
