Scope and Content Note

The series consists of subject and organization files on a variety of topics and document Lucille Clifton's involvement in numerous literary organizations including the Academy of American Poets and the Howard County Poetry and Literature Society; her association with the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival and the National Book Awards; and her many appearances at literary festivals across the United States. Materials include correspondence, clippings, press releases, conference and symposium materials, and some organizational material.
