The manuscript ("Thunder of the Confederacy") is a biography of John Moncure Daniel, editor of the Richmond Examiner (1847-1853; 1861-1865) and a United States representative to the court of Sardinia (1853-1861). The letter (1904) is to Cowart from J. W. Jones.
