Biographical Note
James Martin Edelstein (1924-1996), bibliographer, book collector, and scholar . He served as Distinguished Bibliographer in Residence at the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University, Assistant Director at the Getty Center for the History of Art and the Humanities, and Chief Librarian at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains materials collected by J.M. Edelstein relating to various presses and poets. The collection includes correspondence between Edelstein and the Jargon Press; printed materials from the Cummington Press and Jargon Press; and materials relating to Robert Lowell, James Merrill, and Wallace Stevens.
