Series 3
Speeches, 1923-1962
Boxes 25-27

Scope and Content Note

Series 3 is perhaps the single largest body of papers conveying Dr. White’s thoughts on higher education and related matters. Notations about the audience and the occasion on the typed drafts of his speeches indicate that Dr. White often spoke on the Emory and Oxford campuses as well as campuses throughout the nation. He delivered many commencement addresses. Along with his speeches, this series contains scripts of radio talks (1930-1944).
