Administrative History
The Carter Center was founded by former United States President, Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, in partnership with Emory University in 1982. The Carter Center seeks to promote peace and public health throughout the world.
Scope and Content Note
The collection contains subject files and materials related to conferences sponsored by the Carter Center about social and political issues such as job training and market competitiveness, women and constitutional history, gun control, the politics of apartheid South Africa, and governance in the Middle East.
