Collection Description

Administrative History

This series was created to house records of Greek social fraternities collected from various sources by the Emory University Archives. In most cases they are ephemeral in nature. Fraternities from which more substantial information was acquired have been assigned to individual series bearing the name of the organization.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists primarily of printed materials such as newsletters, handbooks, yearbooks, and other printed information pertaining to several fraternities. Of special interest are a statement on racism at Emory issued by Beta Theta Phi in 1969 and two Certificates of Charter for Sigma Pi. There are also materials related to Emory chapters of Alpha Epsilon Pi, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Chi Phi, Kappa Alpha Order, Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Nu, and Tau Epsilon Phi.

Arrangement Note

Arranged alphabetically by name of fraternity.
