Collection Description

Biographical Note

Abram Venable Lawson (1922-2004) was director of the Division of Librarianship, later Division of Library and Information Managment, at Emory University from 1965-1988. Lawson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, a master's degree from Emory University, and a doctorate from Columbia University. He was a librarian at the Atlanta Public Library and Harvard University Library and an instructor and faculty member at Atlanta University, Emory University, and Florida State University.

The collection consists of office files containing professional and personal papers, 1963-2004, of Abram Venable Lawson.
