Abstract:Rhoda Kaufman was a social worker and activist and onetime Emory University graduate student who was involved in various progressive social movements of the 1930s and 1940s. The collection is chiefly published volumes produced by national and local government agencies and initiatives with which Kaufman was involved, including the White House Conference on Child Health and Protection and the Atlanta Social Planning Council. There is also a scrapbook of clippings related to the United Nations and United Nations Day.

Biographical Note

Rhoda Kaufman (1888-1956) was a social worker and activist, author, and onetime Emory University graduate student. She was involved with various progressive social organizations and initiatives in the 1930s and 1940s including the Georgia Commission for the Feeble-Minded, Georgia State Department of Public Welfare, Atlanta Family Welfare Society, Atlanta Social Planning Council, Child Welfare League of America, and President Hoover's White House Conference on Child Health and Protection.

Scope and Content Note

The collection is chiefly published volumes produced by national and local government agencies and initiatives with which Kaufman was involved, including the White House Conference on Child Health and Protection and the Atlanta Social Planning Council. There is also a scrapbook of clippings related to the United Nations and United Nations Day.
