Walter Scott McCleskey, of Georgia, was a Methodist minister and amateur historian and genealogist. McCleskey's mother was Walter Scott Turner McCleskey, who served as a nurse during World War I at the United States Army Base Hospital No. 43 in Blois, France, known as the Emory Unit.
