Collection Description

Biographical Note

Richard Fipps was a member of the Unified Ku Klux Klan, an organization headquartered in Gulf, North Carolina. He appears to have joined in Florida, though he later lived in Tennessee. He served as Kleagle for his klavern in 1994. His grandfather was a member of the Imperial Wizard Guard, Akron, Ohio, during the 1920s.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of the papers of Richard Fipps from the 1990s. The papers include membership cards, a membership certificate, and a copy of the Unified Ku Klux Klan constitution and bylaws documenting his membership in the Unified Ku Klux Klan. The collection also contains several fliers (mostly photocopies) produced by the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the Aryan Nations Church of Jesus Christ and a panoramic photograph from the 1920s of the Imperial Wizard Guard, Akron, Ohio, depicting Fipps' grandfather.
