Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of 31 letters from April to August 1983, collected by Sheree-Lee Powsey regarding her interest in the Fortune Press as well as a photocopy of her a dissertation, The Fortune Press: A Publishing Alternative in the 1940s (1983). The correspondents are poets who published through Fortune Press and include Roy Fuller, Timothy d'Arch Smith, Phillip Larkin, Hermann Peschmann, Marjorie Boulton, Robert Penn Warren, and Kingsley Amis.
