Scope and Content Note

The series consists of subject files relating to the Geffen family from 1927-1999. These files document organizations and institutions in which members of the Geffen family were involved including youth summer camps, educational institutions, professional and fraternal organizations, and religious organizations. These entities include various Atlanta Jewish organizations including the Aleph Zadik Aleph Chapter of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, Emory University's Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, the Jewish Welfare Board, and the Atlanta District of the Zionist Organization of America. The series also documents the Geffen family's long service to Congregation Shearith Israel and includes minutes and records of various groups and committees in which they were involved.
