Collection Description

Scope and Content Note

This artificially-created collection contains autographs of Georgia political leaders from 1782-1940. The letters in this collection deal chiefly with routine patronage or business matters and were written by persons prominent in Georgia politics in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many were apparently at one time in the possession of such famous collectors as I. K. Tefft of Savannah, Georgia and Benjamin Perley Poore, editor of the Congressional Directory. The library has a catalog of the Tefft Collection (Z42.T4).

Arranged in alphabetical order.
