Scope and Content Note

Spelman College files consist of correspondence, departmental files, teaching files, and miscellaneous files. Correspondence dates from 1966-1969 and pertains to Harding's involvement in programs and conferences, writings, and other professional aspects of his teaching career. Departmental files contain materials relating to courses of study, including course outlines of various faculty members; memoranda; departmental self study reports (1968); and files relating to the Atlanta University Center and to faculty recruitment. Teaching files include course outlines, lecture notes, assignments, schedules and exam questions for courses in African American history taught by Harding. Miscellaneous files are comprised of materials relating to the Black Heritage television series [CBS], 1968-1969; directories; and files pertaining to other institutions of the Atlanta University Center.
