Scope and Content Note

The series consists of personal papers of Anthony Hecht from 1894-2005. The materials include military records (1945-1948); calendars and appoint books (1964-2004); financial records relating primarily to his book royalties (1947-2005); and legal records including contracts for his publishing efforts (1953-1993). Also present are a small number of miscellaneous family and personal papers (1936-2005) including address books; biographical information and numerous revisions of Hecht's vitae; and a small number of sketches by various artists including Theodore Giesel (Dr. Seuss).
