Appraisal Note
Acquired by Curator of Political, Cultural and Social Movements, Randy Gue, as part of the Rose Library’s holdings in the history of Atlanta, Georgia. Rose Library staff removed and securely shredded name tags and permits.
Processing
Arranged and described at the collection level by Katy Lindquist and Brenna Edwards, 2020.
Born digital materials processed, arranged, and described by Brenna Edwards, 2020. Born digital materials include files taken from seven 3.5" floppy disks and eight optical discs.
Forensic disk images were created from the seven 3.5" floppy disks using Kryoflux and from eight optical discs using GuyMager. Individual files were extracted using FTK Imager and scanned for viruses using McAfee’s anti-virus software; none were found. Duplicate and system files have been removed, and files were scanned for personally identifiable information; none were found. Text-based files were migrated to PDF using Adobe Acrobat and image files were migrated to JPG using Microsoft Paint. File dates have been changed from the original creation date. Access copies retain original folder titles and file names.

Collection Description
Historical Note
The Inman Park Neighborhood Association is the representative group of the Inman Park neighborhood and Historic District, Atlanta, Georgia’s first planned residential suburb and electric trolley neighborhood. Founded in 1970, the Association helped add the neighborhood to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and continues to advocate for the neighborhood through their spring festival and tour of homes.
Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of the records of the Inman Park Neighborhood Association and includes administrative files and records of the Inman Park Restoration Committee, the Inman Park Festival, the Historic District designation (including Historic Registration surveys), and the Little 5 Points Business District. There are also copies of the neighborhood newsletter, Inman Park Advocator, subject files about neighborhood and transportation issues in metro Atlanta, audiovisual and born digital materials, slides, printed material, oversized scrapbooks, plans, and blueprints. Born digital material dates from 1994 to 2008, and includes Joel Awards and photographs from the 2008 Inman Park Parade.
