Biographical Note
David M. Jessup (1941- ) was the director of Human and Trade Union Rights for the American Federation of Labor-and Congress of Industrial Organization's (AFL-CIO) American Institute for Free Labor Development (AIFLD). The AIFLD was founded in 1962 to assist in the building of international trade and labor unions.
Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of the papers of David M. Jessup from circa 1970-1996. The papers consist primarily of subject files collected during his tenure as the director of Human and Trade Union Rights for the American Federation of Labor-and Congress of Industrial Organization's (AFL-CIO) American Institute for Free Labor Development. The subject files cover individuals, organizations, and events pertaining to labor unions and international relations. The files contain clippings, correspondence, policy analyses, reports, and organizational material, such as printed material and membership rosters. The collection also includes two folders of Jessup's correspondence from 1985-1987.
