George Leon Johnson, African American soloist, composer, and conductor.

Scope and Content Note

The collection of George Leon Johnson includes two newspaper clippings of performances from May and October 1936; four broadsides, two with picture inserts; six sheet music booklets, including a composition by African American composer William L. Dawson; a photograph of five unidentified men by Woodards Studio - New York and Chicago; a program of an undated performance for the Chatham County Colored Citizens Council; and sample stationary.
