Plays and screenplays, circa 1960-1986
Boxes 43-51
Scope and Content Note
This subseries contains stage play scripts and screenplays authored and co-authored by Killens. The files include typescripts with revisions, general and audition notes, song lyrics, correspondence, and galley proofs. Some works in particular, such as Cotillion and The Slaves, especially show Killens's process of development and revision. The Sickness and The Slaves were co-authored by Herbert Biberman, and the notes and correspondence give some insight into Killens's working relationship with other writers.
