Subseries 2.6
Notebooks and notes, 1945-1989
Box 55
Scope and Content Note
This subseries consists primarily of notebooks. Notes and fragments for unidentified works are also located here. Killens often wrote ideas for different literary works in the same notebook and sometimes took notes at conferences and other events unrelated to his creative writing. Primarily, though, Killens used these notebooks to develop his ideas for The Cotillion (1971) and Great Black Russian (1989).
