Scope and Content Note

This series contains biographical, legal, financial, and other personal material pertaining to Killens and his immediate family from 1934-1988. Promotional material, appearances, and legal agreements about Killens's novels, plays, and film adaptations are located here. Financial records consist largely of invoices from publishing companies. Killens's student and military service records can also be found here. Other material includes recommendations Killens wrote for students and acquaintances, appointment books, passports, datebooks and calendars, obituaries, and material related to his wife and children.
