Collection Description
Biographical Note
Harry Dexter Kitson (1886-1959), was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, taught applied psychology at Teachers' College, Columbia University. He was a charter member of the American Psychological Association and a pioneer in the field of vocational guidance.
Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of papers of Harry Dexter Kitson from 1928-1935. The papers include manuscripts of papers written by Kitson during the late 1920s and early 1930s while on the faculty at Teachers' College, Columbia University. The manuscripts contain corrections made by the author. All of the writings pertain to the application of vocational guidance in high schools, and a number of them have been published. Some of the unpublished manuscripts are incomplete.
