Scope and Content Note

The series consists of various research materials collected by Harvey Klehr relating to the American Communist Party and Soviet espionage. The materials include oral history interviews with Oliver Carlson and Charles Taylor; photocopies of early files of the Communist Party of the United States of America including letters, minutes, and reports from 1921-1922; "most secret communications between Communists Party operatives from 1934-1937; Russian archives materials; photocopies of scholarly articles on communism in the United States of America, as well as Soviet espionage; subject files on individuals involved in the Amerasia Affair; collected materials on the dissolution of the Communist Party of the United States of America, including obituaries and clippies; and correspondence.
