Scope and Content Note

The series consists of writings by Lomax, including book-length works and other writings, as well as writings about Lomax. Book-length works consist of drafts and other materials relating to three unpublished works written by Lomax. These works include two novels, The Ten Most Wanted White Men and Masters and Sons, as well as a novelized account of Lomax's life entitled The Women of Montgomery. Other writings consist of articles, short stories and novellas, and poetry written by Lomax. Also included are writings about Lomax by others, including three oral history interviews with Almena Lomax and materials relating to Southern Exposure, a proposed television film about the Lomax family's trips to the South during the Civil Rights Movement in the early 1960s.
