Scope and Content Note

The subseries consists of newspapers and periodicals which feature articles on or relating to Bobby Jones and golf in the United States and Canada from 1896-2003. The newspapers track the entirety of Bobby Jones' golf career, from his first minor championships in the 1910s to his development of the Masters' Invitational Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in the 1930s. Of note are three syndicated columns written by Bobby Jones from 1927-1935: "Bobby Jones Says," "My Theories of Golf," and "Secrets of the Master." The periodicals include 98 issues of The American Golfer from 1922-1935, which are edited by Grantland Rice, O.B. Keeler, and Bobby Jones himself.
