Scope and Content Note

The series consists of sound and video recordings of Moore and others from 1969-2004. Recordings of Moore contain interviews and performances of Moore’s compositions. The series also contains recordings of events honoring the composer including her memorial service in 1989. Lectures and speeches given by Moore, as well as recordings of her drafts and finished compositions are also included. Other recordings include materials relating to African American composers, music of various genres including jazz and gospel, as well as commercial recordings from Moore’s music collection.
