Printed material, circa 1820-2016
Boxes 5 - 10, 18, and 23 - 26; OP 1 - 9 and 11; XOP 1 - 20; and BV 2 - 5
Scope and Content Note
The series consists of printed material relating to Bram Stoker, Henry Irving, Ellen Terry, the Lyceum Theatre (London, England), Stoker's novel Dracula, and the artistic and pop culture legacy of the novel. The series contains numerous playbills and programs for theatre productions, including Shakespearean plays performed at the Lyceum Theatre by Irving and Terry; mid-century productions of Dracula the play; and productions of other plays about vampires, both those produced prior to the novel Dracula's publication and after the novel was adapted for the theatre. There are also film posters for the many film adaptations of the novel, film sequels, other vampire movies, and other horror films, particularly monster movies produced by Hammer Films (England) and Universal (United States). The series contains lobby cards and pressbooks for many of the films as well. Stamps depicting Dracula books and films, predominantly from the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland, comprise another significant portion of the series.
Arrangement Note
Arranged in alphabetical order.
Processing Note
