Scope and Content Note
The series contains printed material about Flannery O'Connor and her writings as well as about materials that were of interest to her especially relating to Catholicism. Included are newspaper clippings, magazines and periodicals, and other materials such as flyers, programs, and brochures. Newspaper clippings contain reviews of Flannery O’Connor’s work, praise for various awards won, recipes, obituaries, local and regional news, and retrospectives on Flannery’s life. There are also articles on Catholic current events as well as articles about the family farm, Andalusia. Some of the serials contain articles on Flannery’s life and work. There are several articles written by Flannery on issues of religion and literature, such as in the Catholic Century. Local Georgia publications such as Outdoors in Georgia, Brown’s Guide to Georgia, and Milledgeville and Baldwin County Magazine are also included. Other materials contain flyers, handbills, and brochures. There are also a number of briefs and bulletins by museums and historical societies. Topics covered by these other materials include religious devotions, writing clubs, conservation programs, Georgia historical societies, publishing, patents and trademarks, and the Flannery O’Connor Writers Forum.
