Scope and Content Note

The series consists of Desmond O'Grady papers acquired from Ellen Beardsley and Gisele O'Grady in 2017. The series primarily contains correspondence from Desmond O'Grady to Ellen Beardsley and Gisele O'Grady, as well as from Desmon O'Grady to others. There are some poems by O'Grady; some were written for Ellen Beardsley and Gisele O'Grady and others were contributions to collected volumes such as Human Rights Have No Border and The Whoseday Book. The series also includes some notes by O'Grady on topics of interest; material relating to O'Grady's involvement with international poetry events in Italy, Latvia, and Lithuania; some poetry by others; and a lecture by Charles W. Dunn that inspired O'Grady's own work at Harvard University.
