Collection Description
Historical Note
Putnam County is a county located in the central portion of Georgia. The county seat is Eatonton. The county is named in honor of Israel Putnam, who served in the French and Indian War, as well as in the American Revolutionary War as a general. It was established on December 10, 1807 by an act of the Georgia General Assembly.
