Scope and Content Note

Series 6 consists mainly of photographs of the Rogers and Kendall families (1849-1930's, n.d.). In addition it contains photographs of friends, associates, and places (1866-1920's, n.d.); unidentified individuals, places, and scenes (1906-1920's, n.d.); and a photograph album (no date). Subseries 6.1, Family, contains snapshots, ambrotypes, daguerreotypes, tintypes, cabinet cards, cartes-de-visites, and other unidentified photographic types. These photographs have been arranged in family order with those of Loula Kendall Rogers coming first. Friends, Associates, and Places, Subseries 6.2 contains many of the same photographic type as found in Subseries 6.1. The photographs in this subseries have been arranged in alphabetical order, with individuals first and places second. This subseries also includes a framed portrait of the granddaughter of Bishop Leonidas Polk, a drawing from a photograph taken by Loula Kendall Rogers. Unidentified Individuals, Places, and Scenes, Subseries 6.3 are grouped according to subject, i.e. unidentified females, unidentified males, etc. The same photographic types found in Subseries 1 and 2 are also represented here. Photograph Album, Subseries 6.4 contains a cabinet card album. Some of the photographs have been removed and their location is unknown.

Organized into five subseries: (6.1) Family; (6.2) Friends, associates, and places; (6.3) Unidentified individuals, places, and scenes; and (6.4), Photograph album, and (6.5) Fragile photographs.

Restrictions on Access

Special restrictions apply: Fragile photographs in Subseries 6.5 are closed to researchers, however photocopies have been made of these photographs and the copies have been placed in the proper sequence in the other subseries.
