Boxes 46-50; OP6-8

Scope and Content Note

Included in this subseries are all materials related to the writing and publication of Rushdie's nonfiction, including The Jaguar Smile; his two essay collections, Imaginary Homelands and Step Across This Line; and various uncollected essays, , from 1981-2002. The essays present Rushdie's views on numerous topics and range from literary criticism to accounts of his experience during the fatwa. A detailed list of the files is available by accessing the searchable database and emulated environment on the researcher workstation in the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (the Rose Library) reading room.
