Collection Description
Biographical Note
Richard Lee Stevens, activist and educator, originally from Miami Springs, Florida, lived in Atlanta, Georgia, during the 1960s. He was a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology and active in the peace, civil rights, and student movements in Atlanta and the South, and in 1965, was project director, Southern Student Human Relations Project, U.S. National Student Association. In 1970, Stevens was a faculty member at the New Experimental College in Thy, Denmark.
Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of the papers of Richard Lee Stevens from 1964-1969. The papers include subject files, printed materials, and mimeographed proceedings and speeches. Subject file materials include pamphlets, clippings, news bulletins, periodicals, and handbills related to the social concerns of the 1960s, including the peace, civil rights, and war on poverty movements.
