Collection Description

Biographical Note

William Patterson Timmie was born in Chester, South Carolina on May 28, 1891. Timmie served as manager of the Capital City Club in Atlanta for more than fifty year. He died on December 8, 1972.

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of materials relating to William Patterson Timmie, a longtime manager of the Atlanta Capitol City Club and Emory University benefactor. It includes two scrapbooks, containing photographs and other mementoes of the 1950 and 1960 Capital City Club's celebrations in Timmie's honor. The collection also contains one folder of newspaper clippings about Timmie.
