Series 1
Scripts, circa 1957-2012
Boxes 1-20, 37-39, and 41
Scope and Content Note
The series consists of scripts, including play scripts, screenplays, and teleplays, from circa 1957-2012, primarily produced by the Negro Ensemble Company (NEC). The series contains scripts by Ray Aranha, Gus Edwards, Charles Fuller, Paul Carter Harrison, Leslie E. Lee, Barbara and Carlton Molette, Derek Walcott, Joseph Walker, and Douglas Turner Ward. There are multiple drafts and copies of many titles, and the majority of the scripts contain annotations. Scripts may have belonged to different staff and actors of the NEC and many are labeled with names. Scripts are play scripts unless otherwise noted.
Arrangement Note
Arranged in original order. Described in alphabetical order.
Processing Note
Scripts are described in alphabetical order, by author, at the item level to facilitate access, but are physically in the order in which they were packed by the staff of Boo Hooray in 2016. The order that the scripts are presented in the container list does not reflect the physical order of the scripts within boxes.
