The Commission operated concurrently with a ten-year accreditation study conducted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to define research, identify who performs research, devise better ways to support research-intensive faculty, and understand how research both affects and is affected by Emory campus culture. The collection documents the findings of the President's Committee on Research at Emory's findings and includes correspondence between committee members, committee meeting minutes, and general reports drafted for faculty, along with general administrative materials.
